Elizabeth Prentiss: More Love to Thee by Sharon James

Elizabeth Prentiss has always been one of my heroes. After reading this biography of Mrs. Prentiss by Sharon James, my admiration for her has been renewed once again.

Mrs. Prentiss was a pastor's wife in the mid to late 1800s. She lived through much sickness, buried two children, ministered to many of her husband's flock, and wrote prolifically.

She penned the famous hymn, "More Love to Thee."

More love to Thee, O Christ! More love to Thee!
Hear now the prayer I make on bended knee.
This is my earnest plea: More love, O Christ, to Thee!
More love to Thee! More love to Thee!

She had such an earnest love for God and was eager to share this love with others. Sharon James does a great job of writing out the life of this woman of faith who trusted God for everything!
