I always read the book first....I had to speed read the Da Vinci Code before the movie came out and I am glad I did because the book was better....I also read The Devil Wears Prada first.
Books are almost always better. Sometimes if I see a good movie and later find out it is a book, I'll read it. But that hardly ever happens! Vive the library!
the book allows you to use your own imagination of the setting of the faces of everything, the movie doesnt allow u to do that, what you see is what you get.
I like to read the book first but, lately (twice) I saw the movies, and haven't read the books. I think books are always better than, the movie but, I've been pretty lucky...the movies I have
caught (where I read the book first), they have all been good.
I still sit on the fence with this one! It always seems that when I see the movie first, I'm unable to get those images out of my head when I read the book later - and when I read the book
first, the story doesn't live up to the expectations I created in my mind while reading the book.
It just all depends on which one I have access to at the time, and how vivid the experience (book or movie) I'm left with is.
I agree with Fantasia, if you watch the movie first it's harder to use your own imagination, all you picture are things you saw in the movie...I would rather read a great book than watch a
movie so the book is more important to me. I don't care about ruining the movie. I look at the movie as a way to see someone else's perspective on the book...
