First and foremost, David Sedaris is HILARIOUS. His books are primarily autobiographical and consist mostly of memories of growing up in a large Greek family. I have laughed out loud more than once when reading his books, and I would highly recommend him to anyone that loves witty humor. This, like all of his books, are an array of short stories. The title of this book comes from the last short story in the book; The author has decided to go on vacation to a nudist colony and winds up finding it is not at all what he thought it would be. Extremely self-conscious and self-loathing, the author takes you through a number of scenarios in each of his stories, but the one constant is that you will find humor in his misfortunes and joys just as he does. He has written several other autobiographical books, some of my very favorites include Me Talk Pretty One Day, Dress Your Family in Courderoy and Denim, and Holidays on Ice.

ashley - i read this book a while ago and it cracked me up! good choice
1I love David Sedaris. This is a great book!
2I just know I would love his books. I've been meaning to read them for forever! Have any of you read any of Augusten Burroughs' books? He wrote Running with Scissors, Dry, Sellevision, and Magical Thinking. So far I've only read Running with Scissors and Magical Thinking, but they were pretty amazing and hilarious.
3The only thing better than a David Sedaris book is a David Sedaris audiobook. The only thing better than a David Sedaris audiobook is seeing him read live. i met David a few months ago at a reading and he is now my favorite person. He signed my book with a little dinosaur (meaning he drew a dino in my book) and talked to me for like 5 minutes about France. I LOVE LOVE LOVE him.
4I was assigned to read Me Talk Pretty One Day for a class, and one of my classmates was really upset about it - she found the language offensive (!).
