So many of these are great picks! I voted for Where the Wild Things Are because I also used that as my av when we had fav childrens book day a few weeks ago. I loved Dr. Suess and Shel
Silverstein of course. Spot books and Clifford books and so many more!
Where the Wild Things Are, Eat Up Gemma, Amazing Grace, Tom & Pippo, The Very Hungry Caterpillar and The Very Quiet Cricket. Those were the ones I carried everywhere with me. Then there
were the ones that wouldn't fit in my bag...
I loved the Star Bellied Snitches, by Dr. Seuss. I really loved all the Dr. Seuss books. I also loved Anne of Green Gables...and all the Beverly Cleary & Judy Blume books, too.
It's between Dr. Seuss' books and Ramona Quimby................ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh crispet, I just read your comment!!! I loved all those books with Ramona in it!!!
All of the Romona books! Remember the one where she squeezes the whole tube of toothpaste into the sink? It looked so smooth with just one little dent in the middle, and she couldn't resist the temptation!!
And then the one where she names her doll "Chevrolet"?
And the one where she calls her sister, "Beezus, Jesus. Jesus, Beezus."?
And the one where the little boy in her KIDnergarten ('cause that's where the kids are) calls the caterpillar a "taterpillar"...
I still use the little rule in that book about Principle vs. Principal (your Principal is your "pal").
Oh, and the one where she sings the national anthem and says the "dawnzer lee light" - she doesn't know what a dawnzer is, but she knows that it gives out "lee light"....
I have lots & lots!
In the Night Kitchen (the Maurice Sendek book that gets banned alot)
Alexander & the Magic Pebble
all the Fox books
all the Frog & Toad books (that was my avy for fav. kids book day)
all the Stupids books
all the Ramona book (go RCL, I totally remember them ALL)
all the Amelia Bedila
& my most favorite of all is The Dwindling Party, this crazy pop-up book by Edward Gory. It is wild & I loved the hell out of it. I tore it in a tantum once & I'm still upset
about it...
What a mean poll-how do I choose? I LOVE all of them. Chose Dr. Suese because there were so many good ones to choose from.
RCL...I totally remember all of those, and I still say "Nosmo King" in my head whenever I see a sign. And "tommytoes". I loved that her cat was "picky-picky" and hated cheap cat food. This
makes me want to go read them all again!
I have the Shel Silverstein books downstairs with all my boxes of books. Such good stuff.
Loved the LM Montgomery books, esp the Emily seriese (hmm, wonder why ) and really love the Little House books. Soooo much better than the TV show.
hmm...i liked this book called "the color wizard"
it was about a wizard who lived in a black and white world, so he made paint and painted everything in all sorts of beautiful colors.
i also loved the ramona books, the babysitter's club, the boxcar children, and all of the anne of green gables series.
I know, they're great. This poll made me remember them, and I just bid on some on ebay for the boys...especially the Won't Pick Up Toys Cure one... lol
I voted for Where the Sidewalk Ends because I love Shel Silverstein so much. But my favorite book growing up was the Giving Tree. I just bought this book for my nephew for Christmas and I
read it again before I gave it to him (I know... so tacky right?). It still is one of my favorite books. I cried after reading it a few weeks ago. So sweet.
Yep yep LOVED Beverly Cleary and Judy Blume! And the Babysitters Club and Boxcar Children and Sweet Valley High! I think I read every single book in the series and by the authors.
As a young child though, I loved The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Five Chinese Brothers, Strega Nona and Blueberry Sal!
I actually don't remember any books from when I was super little. But I loved all the Baby Sitter's Club books and I can't remember the names but there was this series of books where this kid
switched bodies with a dog and then in another book with his sister. There were some Wizard of Oz books I read. Oh, and Animorphs...ah, the beginning of my science fiction love. lol

Adventures of Three Colors. Don't know who wrote it, but I do know I can't afford it. It's out of print and runs about $60. :/
12Okay, we definitely need :/ and :S smilies. I think I use those more than any others, but sadly they don't make cute faces on Pop.
